the tao says:-
to delight in your love
to feel the heart open
to treasure every moment
every touch
every glance
every kind word
but let it go

for all things change
everyday we are different
everyday our hearts bend in the wind
feelings ebb and flow
intimacy is not something you can cling to
for it is fragile as a bird
it needs it freedom
to sing and fly
to come and go as it pleases

Standing still
or going
are the same if you are still within.
Stopping or hastening onwards
are the same if you are hastening within
quiet the mind and soothe the soul
and enter the tranquil place
at the centre of yourself
at the heart of the still lake within

relax
breathe
sink
and become re-united with yourself
become submerged
in the unity and oneness that is within and without

Simplicity
the uncurling of a fern
a leaf flutters to the path

Patience
the blush of autumn
turns to red and gold falling leaves
the seed pushes out of dark loam

Compassion
the heart recognises itself in others
the heart sees suffering and struggle
different, but no different to its own

With simplicity
I relax into the centre
I return to the source
With patience

the naming of a thing
is a line drawn in sand
what is
and what is not
the marking out of difference
the defining of other

the naming in our minds
creates divisions
where no divisions exist

the naming in our hearts
limits love
places boundaries on compassion

in naming we create opposites and paradoxes
two aspects, where there is only one
duality, where there is only Unity
