DIG was a project conceived for "LAMP: Story of the Future". It formed the basis of my Masters project, but I have since diverged away from the original concept. A prototype exists, but the implementation was too large for it to be deployed on the internet.

Like Theseus Lost, it was designed as an illustrated interactive narrative, based around a literary novella developed explicitly for electronic delivery.

The project aimed to provide the vehicle for a literary “spiritual journey” narrative to find a “natural” home in the electronic environment, i.e. one that exploited the inherent nature of the internet, without undermining the power and beauty of the word, or traditional literary values.

Like many stories conceived of by writers, it took on a life of its own, and the central character, Matt, refused to go on a spiritual journey, and embarked instead on quest for revenge.

Hence DIG, outgrew its origins and became the much darker tale of Theseus Lost.
